Wow! Good news for Garner! It was named a North Carolina Outstanding Traffic Safe Community for 2011! AAA Carolinas Foundation for Traffic Safety based their decision on “traffic safe communities” include crash statistics, number of law enforcement officers per capita and the existence of a formal traffic safety program or special traffic division.
There were also 14 additional North Carolina localities honored. Garner was among the top five municipalities with populations between 10,000 and 30,000.
