I Changed My Mind

And am no longer a candidate for Harrisburg NC Town Council.

The main reason that I've decided to withdraw my candidacy is that I've been selected to sing in a very small choral group-and it's an opportunity that I can't pass up at this time. After all, I'm getting older and I won't be able to sing forever (at least not without sounding like someone in the Mayberry choir!).

The new group is called VOX- led by David Tang and Peppie Culvar, and we'll be singing Bach's St John's Passion in a movie, as well as participating as the chorus for Aida, with Opera Carolina.

And since rehearsals are on Monday nights, and so are Town Council meetings, I'm choosing to sing.

There are sure to be a lot of folks with a comment about my leaving this (ugly) race, but so be it. God gave me a gift of voice and I'm going to use it.

I live here and I will still remain active and I will still voice my many opinions about the direction of this town. I am no less dedicated to a great Harrisburg NC, I just need to grab this opportunity lest it pass me by.
