That’s all I asked for when my grandmother passed away. To me the cookie jar reminded me of the times she spent teaching me her secret peanut butter cookie recipe. That cookie jar represents discipline, patience and love.
My grandmother loved to can vegetables from their garden. The highlight of her week was the trip to the hair dressers, church and then to Piggly Wiggly.
She made the best tasting fried chicken and every time I stayed the night she’d have me kneel at the foot of my bed. She read a few passages from the Bible, prayed with me and kissed me goodnight. I never knew how lucky I was to have a grandparent love me that much.
I honor her memory by sharing with you what a wonderful person she was. It’s so funny what material things have sentimental value.
