Jimmy joined ActiveRain on December 21, 2011, and he is working very hard to learn the ropes, figure out how all the pieces here fit together, and make connections and friends. In under one month, he has accomplished a lot here - he has almost 30,000 points, he's written a ton of posts, and he is busy signing up for webinars and checking out video tutorials at ActiveRain U.

Jimmy has an amazing background. He came to the USA from Vietnam as a refugee - a boat person without a home - and somehow ended up in Hickory, North Carolina. He graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University in 1996 and began working as a graphic designer - his background is in art and music - but Hickory had few opportunities in his field. One day in 1999, he saw an ad that said "Get your real estate license - will be paid for", so he did, and became a Realtor, even though a few months earlier, he had no idea what that even was. Jimmy is with Keller-Williams in Mooresville, NC, and also owns a Japanese restaurant and works as a translator.

One of Jimmy's inspirations is Oprah Winfrey - he was struck when reading her book that she credited her success to being surrounded by exceptional people. That struck a chord with Jimmy and is why he joined AR - to learn from those more experienced than himself.
