The apples are growing around Maggie Valley and making me think of the fall Apple Harvest Festival. Haywood County has wonderful apple orchards famous not only for their apples, but also their ciders, apple cakes, jams, and a sundry of baked goods.
Here is a link to addresses and directions to various Haywood County apple orchards and others in the Blue Ridge region of beautiful Western North Carolina.

Gotta love those fresh apples! I used to make gallons of homemade applesauce (wayyyy back in time) and loved going apple picking. There's something to be said for 'getting back to basics' sometimes.
You've got me savoring a juicy apple now!
Nice picture of apples there Susie... How's Alaska?
OK. Now you have me thinking of warm apple pie with whipped cream on top. Yummy! LOL
