What's going on in Morrisville, NC.

From Morrisville 101 class - If you live in Morrisville or plan to move soon, here's some need to know info

The intersection of Morrisville Carpenter Road and NC54 is being improved! The improvements will include: Addition of right turn lane from Morrisville Carpenter Road to NC54; Addition of right turn lane from NC 54 to Aviation Parkway; Addition of right turn lane from NC 54 to Morrisville Carpenter Road.
That's good news for the many residents and employees that have had to sit in the traffic for what seems like eternity at that intersection. Some of you may say, this project is way overdue...well, I would have
agreed up until now. Blake Mills, Director of Public Works, let us know that the Town had to work with DOT and the railroad to get approval to make the necessary changes. Sometimes we don't realize what "ACTS" or "HOOPS" our town governments have to go to make sense of our roadways and we want to blame them when they may not be the holdup. Congratualtions and a pat on the back for those at the Town of Morrisville Public Works that made this project happen!

What's happened so far: Winding RoadIntersection Church and Morrisville Carpenter

- Relocation of the Pugh House

- Right-of-way Acquisition Pugh House

- Construction Contract Awarded

What's left to do:

- Obtain permit from North Carolina Railroad Company

- Begin Construction

New Street:
The construction of Jeremiah Street (named after Jeremiah Morris) is also a part of this overall project and that work has physically started (connecting Church Street to Town Hall Drive). This is also a nice addition to the town. It will incorporate Church Townes - Townhomes to a nice quaint main street theme with connectors to the future greenways. The town is not sure of the future plans for developement of the street, as far as business/residential goes, but it may be small shops with residential housing above. Sounds fun! Nice place to hang out. Way to GO! I will keep you updated on the progress.
