Great Fall Festival in the NC Mountains at the John C. Campbell Folk School

38th Annual Fall FestivalThe weather just couldn’t have been better in the NC mountains than it was this past weekend for the 38th Annual Fall Festival at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC!

Held every year, the first weekend in October and one the most longed for events in the tri-state area. Lee and I hadn’t been in a few years and were really looking forward to attending this years Fall Festival and we certainly weren’t disappointed. There were over 200 booths filled with some of the most beautiful arts and crafts from so many talented artisans. Oh, what a great place to find some really unique gifts too. We got a great piece for our brother-in-law and can’t wait to give it to him for his birthday in December and Carol can't wait to take a Rug Hooking class with Laura Schnelker. Here are some photos from our favorite artist and their creations...

Of course there is always the great food and smells of BBQ, kettle corn and fried apple pies in the cool Fall air too. We missed the cloggers performing while we were visiting with past clients, but there was plenty of music and dancing in the Festival Barn Stage and Craft Shop Stage.

Lots of demonstrations of blacksmithing, enameling, woodcarving and other Appalachian crafts throughout the festival. The kids could enjoy the Pony rides and who wouldn’t want to load up in the Wagon for a ride around the Folk School grounds?
