Oak Island Bridge Stop Work

Just when we think we are moving ahead on the "new" bridge to Oak Island, which people have been talking about since at least the 1960's, work stops again, to err on the side of safety. It seems cracks were noticed in a few of the long beams designed to span quite a distance over the Intracoastal Waterway. I'll keep you posted, but looks like the completion date keeps getting pushed back! So....travel to Oak Island from Highway 17, using either Highway 211 or Highway 133, and come on down, walk on the beach, enjoy a swim, eat seafood, and just enjoy our great quality of life!
