Hummingbird is Back

I have been putting out sugar water and freshening it up two or three times a week for about 6 weeks trying to lure hummingbirds to my feeder. Today I saw the first one cheerfully drinking the sugar water and then for variety getting something out of a nice red flower I have in a nearby hanging basket. Several years ago I had a number of hummingbirds coming to feed, but I quit because of my cat(s). Now the one remaining cat is too old to do any damage to the hummingbird population so I can enjoy them again. I'm sure that the hummingbird will spread the information to its friends and family and I'll get more now that one has discovered the feeder!
