For those of you who are new to the the Catawba County area or those of you who have never participated in Soldiers Reunion week activities, head to Newton, NC on Sunday! Every year since 1889 Newton, NC has hosted a Soldiers reunion week, this coming week will mark the 120th year anniversary for Newton, NC to host this event! The event kicks off Sunday with a Old timey car show and parade! There is usually several food venders as well as stuff for the kids and a band on the courthouse lawn!
Tuesday is beach music night with live music and lot's of shagg'in.
Wednesday is one of my favorite's in Downtown Newton, NC of all Soldiers reunion activities, it is the baby parade where parents decorate stroller's, wagons or whatever rolls and march thier youngster's around the courthouse square. I have participated in this event several times over the years but now fear my children are to old for the baby parade! Wednesday in Downtown Newton, NC also boast a pet parade following the baby parade!
Thursday is the Big Parade right in downtown Newton, NC get there early to get a good seat and hope to see you there!
