The beautiful season of autumn, every decorators department store, what better way to spend time outdoors looking for wonderful surprises to decorate any room. There’s so much inspiration in the changing colors of nature, that it seems only natural to bring some of those changes inside. Autumn also brings to us the wonderful memories we had since childhood: Halloween carved jack-o-lantern, cool and chilly mornings, Friday night high school football games, traveling to the mountains to view the brilliant fall colors and stopping by your local farmers market or apple orchid for those crisp fall apples.

Autumn is many people’s favorite season, the perfect season to sit around an outdoor fireplace with your family and friends. Sure there's a chill in the air but just imagine sitting by this crackling fire among your friends or family laughing and sharing stories. Reacquaint ourselves with a good book and a cup of hot spiced cider as we nestle into our cozy throw by the roaring fire.

Rain showers come and go leaving the air crisp and clean. Autumn displays her earthy browns, brilliant reds, liquid amber and orange, pear gold and muted yellow. Bringing the feel of autumn into your home creates natural warmth and echoes the changing season. As with any seasonal theme, you can go the subtle route by switching out accents, adding a fall display and putting up an autumn wreath.

Capture the spirit of the season by adding spice, color, and warmth to your home. Whether you're decorating for fall with pumpkins and gourds, or adorning the sofa with soft, warm blankets, it's the small touches that go a long way when decorating for the autumn season. Harvest some supplies. If you grow gourds, pumpkins, apples or brightly colored berries, you can harvest them to provide components for centerpieces, garlands and porch decorations. If you do not have these items in your garden, you can always purchase them at the local garden store or even buy them from the grocery in many cases. Mother nature is our best friend for autumn decorating, so take a walk outdoors and you will be amazed at what you will find.

Simple and Crafty Ideas for Fall Decorating
There are so many quick and easy fall decorating ideas that can be done without spending a lot of money. Here are a few:

Create a simple display by filling a clear bowl or vase with pine-cones, nuts, gourds, acorns – or a selection of all of them. Leave them as is for a natural look, or spray-paint them all the same color for a unified loo k. Silver, for example, is a sophisticated and elegant color choice. The items say “autumn” while the color says “glamour”.

Make candleholders out of small gourds and mini pumpkins. Cut off the top of the gourd and scoop out the desired amount of the insides to make room for a small candle or tea light.

Turn a pumpkin into a cute fall flower vase by cutting out the core. Experiment with different types of flowers (they needn’t just be seasonal flowers).

Pick your favorite candy in autumn colors and place in glass jars to showcase on a table.

With one pillar candle elevated, others remain on the tabletop near glass votive holders, creating a glow of light for any autumn dinner. Airy stems fill twin pots embellished with tangerines, add a few fall leaves and nuts for color.

Heavier fabrics automatically make things cozier. Cotton flannel, ultra-suede, chenille, velvet and wool are all good options. When it comes to color think about autumn tones. Warm browns, oranges, reds and greens work nicely.
Also think about accessories. Accent pillows in fabrics like faux fur add a warm touch, as do cozy decorative throws. Toss one over the back of a chair or sofa. It’s practical and pretty!
