It's hot here in Charlotte NC, hotter than usual (over 100 degrees today and HUMID!). And it's dry-we haven't had nearly enough rain lately.
So the local governments (that is, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, and Landis in Cabarrus County) are asking folks to voluntarily get smart with their water usage. It's not required yet-if we would all pitch in and behave, mandatory restrictions wouldn't be necessary.
And we're not talking about things that are difficult to do! Here are some of the suggestions for cutting back:
I get pretty mad when I drive by houses that are running sprinklers in the middle of the day! No one is asking you to let your investment in your yard die, we're asking that you water intelligently.
Please think about it. We're fortunate enough to live in a place where clean, safe drinking water is readily available. Don't abuse that privilege.
