Major Fright Tonight!

Our first grandson was born Sunday night to my youngest son and his wife. It is their first child so I get reports all day long for the past few days. They are going through the first few weeks of adjustments that we all went through with a new baby. Tonight at 11:30 my phone rang. Caller ID showed Brunswick County Emergency Services. I panicked! Immediately, I thought something was wrong with the baby or one of our relatives. I was relieved to hear a computer voice explaining that an elderly man had wandered off from his home in Carolina Shores and emergency services were asking residents to check outside their home to see if anyone could spot him...similar to an Amber Alert. What a great idea!! I didn't know we had such a service in Brunswick County. I doubt he could walk all the way to my home in that short period of time but you never know. My mother had alzheimers and I paid for a monitor to keep her located. I do hope they find him but they sure did scare me with such a late night call!
