NC Mountain Bikers Excited About Briar Chapel

Until recently - serious NC mountain bikers would have to trek to the western part of NCtorc in search of a challenging ride. That is all about to change with the help of Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC). Partnering with Newland Communities, TORC will develop the largest single-track network in this area and that network will contain trails for all skill levels. The 15-mile network will be constructed at Briar Chapel, the Newland Communities development in north-east Chatham.

chapel ridgeCurrently there is no legal mountain bike trail in Chatham so the Briar Chapel plan has generated a lot of interest from mountain bike enthusiasts. TORC is an all-volunteer organization that has been the driving force behind many of the Triangle's mountain bike trails including the trails at Lake Crabtree, Falls Lake, Harris Lake and others.

The new Briar Chapel trail is expected to open the first 5 mile phase in November 2007. All of the trails will be natural surface and single track.

Watch for more trails being added as Briar Chapel develops. Want more information on Briar Chapel and Chatham County? Give me a call at 919-542-0471! Yvonne Beal, Chapel Ridge Realty, Chatham County Homes and Land Experts.
