North Carlonia is a great place to live! Where else can you great weather, drive to the coast or the mountains, lots of jobs and have affordable living? I grew up in Portland, Oregon, have family in San Diego, California, Boise, Idaho, Austin, Texas, lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and also Panama City, Florida. Though all of these places have great characteristics I found North Carolina to have a balance of them all and for everyday living moving to North Carolina has been the best decision for my family and I. I am a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty but when I first moved to the area I worked with a seismograph company monitoring blasts for construction company and quarries which required a lot of traveling within a 300 mile radius of Charlotte. The job ended up being one of the best training I received for selling real estate because I was able to familerize myself very well with all areas in North Carolina and parts of Virginia and South Carolina. I live in Huntersville, North Carolina which is just north of Charlotte next to Lake Norman. The great things about Charlotte is it is the second largest banking center next to New York and great for small business, Professional sports such as the Carolina Panthers, and Charlotte Bobcats as well as home to the future Nascar Hall of Fame, for family's you have Paramount Pictures Carowinds which is an amusement park and water park. The coast is about 3 1/2 hours away and we love to go to Charleston, SC for a min vacation and the Mountains are 1 1/2 hours away, Blowing Rock is a popular town in the mountains we love going to. For outdoor activity around Charlotte you have 3 large lakes Lake Wylie, Mtn Island lake and Lake Norman which is the largest in the state. Also there is the U.S. Whitewater center which is a world class kyaking center, 14 miles of trails, rock climbing etc. I will continue about my thoughts on other areas of North Carolina later.
