High School Reunions

Apparently everyone was nervous about the 10 year high school reunion I went to last weekend. Well, we had a great time and it was very surreal seeing all my old friends and classmates. All the girls looked the same. Some of the guys have grown (up not out!). It was not the nerve racking, show-off, uncomfortable weirdness that I thought it might be. What a relief. I was also very impressed and proud of how successful many of my classmates had become. Many of them have beautiful children, lovely spouses, and are living very normal, but impressive, lives. An amazing feat considering some of the trouble we used to get into in school! Well, my take-away from the event is that I encourage all of you to go to your reunion and enjoy it, you might even get some business out of it!

Hi Shannon!  I'm happy to hear that you had a nice time at your reunion.  I'l looking forward to mine!!!

I went and attended my 25th. Three of our Middle School teachers were in attendance. They had never been to any classes Reunion, they chose use to have a beer with. It was great seeing them. The real shock was that they looked the same as I remembered 30 years ago. I struggled with the time warp idea. Then it dawned on me.....When I first me them in class, I was 14, they were already adults. They were already grown so there wasn't any change that I could see. Boy, did that make me feel old.

Glad you had fun.  I've never been to one of my own reunions, but did go to an old girlfriend's reunion.  I think that I had more fun than she did!

Shannon I attended my 10 year and loved it.  I moved from MA to FL right after graduation and hadn't seen most of my old friends since then.  My husband was amazed that when we all get back together it was like time had just stood still. Since the reunion we keep in touch a lot more and my 15th reunion is next year!! Glad you had a great time.

Great to read.  My 20th is coming up soon.  The tenth was pretty much as you had discribed yours.  A lot of posturing and preening, but little substance in mine.  Ten years and most of us were just getting started in the first few years of our careers after college.  I'm looking forward to the big two zero.

Sounds great!  I did a website for one of my clients for her reunion to share with her friends/advertise a little.  Check it out if you have time.  www.ConcordHighReunion.com.  Her classmates seem to enjoy it!

Glad you had a great time!  Ours was completely the opposite, sadly!  I heard several stories of plastic surgery before.  Can you imagine that!!  I'm heading into the 20th now, so we'll see if it changes!  We all grow up, we are all the same age, why bother with botox before a reunion!  We KNOW how old you are:)
