Last Friday I was quite surprised to read in our local newspaper that "Locally, high-end homes make up the majority of those sold in the county." What?
We DO normally enjoy a very healthy second-home market as well as a healthy high-end market... and we will again! However, at the present time our 'sweet spot' is between $100,000 and $299,999.
A review of sales from June through today yields the following pertinent numbers: In the $300,000 price range there were 3 sales in June, 3 in July and, so far, 2 in August. The $400,000 range yielded 4 sales in June, and 1 in July; the $500,000 range yielded 1 sale in July, and there was 1 'million and over' sale during the referenced time period which was a $1,100,000 sale in July.
Below is an analysis of our sales for the year-to-date.
Haywood County - 1,243
Maggie Valley - 287
Waynesville - 593
Canton - 158
Clyde - 169
Lake Junaluska - 32

Good job in sticking with what the public wants to see. I know I need to do some more graphs, but my brain has not wanted to cooperate =/
So are you going to change your personal photo every day now? =P FTR, I this one much better than yesterdays ;)
Lisa, market reports are not too popular with the AR addicts, but they provide very important and 'naked' information for the public. Re my photo... I agree re FTR. Changing every day?? We shall see.. have to allow for bad hair days! Thank you for stopping by!
The paper was wrong? Seriously? :-)
It's nice that you're staying on top of the current information... many of the old "rules" have been operating in reverse lately.
