It's NOT my fault! Grace Safrin made MeMe do it!!! ;-)

In her first...YES you heard me correctly...her VERY FIRST ActiveRain MeMe (My First Me-Me - SUPER Sized :)...Grace Safrin passed the Me-Me torch to eight more ActiveRainers...including ME. At the time of publishing her post, I was away on a personal leave. However, I promised Grace that I would fulfill my obligation AS SOON AS I returned home. HONEY...I'M HOME!!!

According to Grace...there are EIGHT little questions that I MUST answer before I'm allowed to go out and play in the 'RAIN'.

1.     Who is your favorite musical artist?

This is easy to answer! Ever since I saw THIRD DAY in concert in Atlanta, Georgia (back in 199something)...I was hooked. The lead singer, Mac Powell, has the BEST Rock-n-Roll voice I've ever heard...and he writes and sings from his soul. This is my favorite Third Day song:

Thomas Blackshear's 'FORGIVEN'

2.     Who is your favorite artist?

Again...I do not have to think about this one. Thomas Blackshear is an amazing artist...capable of translating the most intense emotions and feelings...the intangible...into a tangible image that the rest of us can then 'see' with our human eyes.

And...of course...I have a favorite piece. I was walking through a shopping mall in Rocky Mount, NC (many years ago) when I saw this painting in a store window. I stopped in my tracks and stood in awe of his ability to perfectly portray 'FORGIVENESS'.

IF I could own any original piece of art...from any time in history...this is it!

3.     Who is your favorite blogger?

OMGOSH...how could I possibly choose? I subscribe to well over 100 blogs, and I try to read every new post.

Actually...several of my favorite bloggers have not posted in a long time...Andrew Trevino and Julie Neerings. I miss you guys sooooooooooo much! COME HOME!!!

What I can tell you is that I am drawn to writers who write from their heart. I don't care if they are clever or great writers...as long as they are passionate and sincere.

4.     If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?

I would love to meet the apostle, Peter. He was not polished...not subtle...not well-educated...not a great speaker...not soft around the edges. Other than Jesus, he was the ONLY person in history who walked on water...yet he denied Jesus three times on the day of Jesus' trial. He was not the typical dude you would expect someone like Jesus to choose as a 'running mate'. I want to meet Peter because he reminds me that God custom-built each of us for a specific purpose...that even though I am so very far from perfect...I am perfectly loved by a perfect God.

5.     What did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up on Quail Roost Farm in Durham, NC...the ONLY thing I ever dreamed of being was a veterinarian. I spent my days and nights riding and grooming the horses on the farm, and I was absolutely certain that I would be the best veterinarian in the whole world. I actually followed my dream all the way to my senior year of high school. I applied to, and was accepted into, the NCSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Before the end of my senior year, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in design. (Big jump from veterinary medicine to design to real estate, huh?)

6.     What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?

Interesting or useless...YOU decide. Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time. Pretty impressive, don't ya think? I wish I could do that.

7.     If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?

This is a very difficult question to answer, because I've always felt as though I belong in and to a different era. However, I KNOW that God placed me RIGHT here RIGHT now for a specific purpose. I have a wonderful husband and four beautiful daughters. I LOVE my life, and I would not trade any part of it for ALL the money in the world!

8. What is the most interesting job you have ever held?

ABSOLUTELY...POSTIVELY...UNDOUBTEDLY...there is no career on earth more interesting, diverse and challenging than real estate! It is also incredibly rewarding. I am certain that I am doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing...and I will continue to do it (through the good markets and bad) until God redirects my path.

Back in November 2007, I wrote a post entitled The REAL reason I became a REALTOR® (This will make some people angry...and...I can live with that.) In this post, I shared my 'WHY'...the thing that keeps me focused and motivated...even in a difficult market.

Okay Graciela...I finished my homework assignment. May I go out and play? PWEEEESEEEE!!???!!

Ooooooooooooooppppsssss! I almost forgot the best part. I need to select the next eight torch bearers. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ::LOOKING AROUND THE ROOM:: Who should I choose? I KNOW!!

When I first joined ActiveRain, I saw all of these 'MeMe' posts and had no clue what was going on. Then, after months, someone tagged me for a 'MeMe'. I am going to go to the Active Rain Newbies Group and pick eight people randomly. I'll be right back.

In no particular order:

Eve Hansen

Anna Davis Little

Jane Grant

(I'm beginning to feel a little like Bob Barker right now.)

Donna J. Farias

Tracy Pina

John Paul Soto

(Two more to go...)

Keith Renno

John Bell

To ALL of YOU new guys...this is your chance to introduce yourselves to us. Once you write your post, please link it back to this one...as I have done to the person who tagged me. Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions. I cannot wait to read each and every one of your MeMe's. HAPPY BLOGGING!!!
