Tournament fishing attracts hard core anglers from near and far essentially year round. Locally we have a Carteret County Sportsfishing Association which allows you to follow the circuit of upcoming events and find useful local information. The state of North Carolina is home to a variety of fresh and salt water fishing for the weekend getaways or the tournament competition. Visit The Coastal Guide to read more about these towns around NC offering the sport of fishing!
Google map : Morehead City is located in Carteret County and has a population of approximately 10,000. Additionally we are home to The NC Port Authority, one of two state ports. Tourism brings families from most states along the eastern seaboard because of the pristine beaches, laid back atmosphere and true "Southern Hospitaility ". Carteret County offers an affordable second home market with plenty of slips for boats - and quite frankly the best tax rate on the coast.

So, take it from me--and Field and Stream Magazine-- Morehead City does offer Fantastic Fishing and now may be a perfect time for you to consider a second home/ fishing getaway along the Crystal Coast!

When you are ready to make that purchase---I want to hear from you!
I want to be your personal Realtor when buying Real Estate along the Crystal Coast of NC.

Hi Michele,
I hope this report boost yours and our buisness in Carteret County. How lucky are we to live in "Paradise." Wish we had time to go fishing!
Hey Vickie---
thanks for reading my post. Even a walk on the beach would be a nice treat this time of year for me, and you too I bet !
The NC Aquarium has surf fishing lessons which is popular as well. We have local piers on and off the island for those that love to fish but dont have a boat. BRackish water or salt water--theres opprtunity for all.
Hey Michelle,
This looks like such a great place. Just yesterday I was talking with someone about states I'd love to vist and North and So. Carolina were top on my list. I hope to make it there some day.
Hi Lynda- Set a date, you have a place to stay! NC has been home for me over the past 20 yrs. I was born and raised in S. Fla and find the sandy beaches and small towns are alot like Fla was when I was a kid ---before they grew to large cities.
pronouncing tip: The SC folks pronounce their charming town of Beaufort Bew ' furt.
Just 3 miles away from me is Beaufort NC, , Bo -Furt.
Hi Michele...
I just ran into a comment by you and wanted to swing in to say hi and I hope all is well with you :)
TLW...ROAR!
Hi TLW, things are staying steady --fall is setting in and of course this is my favorite time of yr here on the coast of NC.
I appreciate the note, hope you are feeling better...
Dear Michele,
You live in great place place along the Atlantic coast, and I have had many a fun times in your area. The fishing is good, and it is something my wife and I like to do.
I have good friends who are renovating a home in the downtown area of Bath, NC, and I am sure I will be coming up to fish once they move there.
If interested view my website about my fishing adventures: Some of them were in Morehead on the Impulse downtown.

Hi Charlie- I went to your web page- great stuff!Sure I know the Impulse and yes, it is a great place to fish and live.
Bath is a wonderful and quiant town in Beaufort County... I use to take my dogs there to run around while we ate a picnic lunch along the watersedge -- years ago when I lived in Greenville (Pitt Co)
It's a short drive to our coast from Bath so come on down and visit when your friends get moved in!
The fish are always biting!
