Luxury Home trends for In Ground Pools
We are seeing more and more Raleigh homeowners transform their backyards into a paradise retreat. I've seen some amazing Mediterranean inspired designs using Stone, Waterfalls and Gardens...all fashioned to look like a Roman Spa right in your backyard.
Homebuyers shopping for a Raleigh home priced above $700,000 are commonly asking for a home with a pool or a yard that will accommodate an in ground pool. They aren't looking for just your average rectangular pool of your parent's day either. Our luxury end homebuyer is looking for a backyard pool with just the right setting that smoothly incorporates the pool into the landscape and extends indoor recreation seamlessly to the outdoors.

What does adding a pool do to your home's resale value? Well it depends. If your home in Raleigh would sell today for over $700,000, I feel a well designed pool will add value. A home that currently sells for under $400,000 and has a pool, may see a drop in desirability. This is due to the perceived cost of maintenance and the worry over securing the area from young children. When I get asked this question, I remind my clients that sometimes we do things for pure enjoyment. You can't live your life around the resale of your home. Go have some fun.
My personal favorite pool designer is Laguna pools out of Houston Texas. I've displayed a few "awe" inspiring Pools.
