PepsiCo Opening Lab at North Carolina Research Park in Kannapolis

More GREAT NEWS for the North Carolina Research Park in Kannapolis NC! Last Monday it was announced that PepsiCo Inc. has agreed to open a research lab at the Research Park. According to the article, the lab will be 4000 square feet and will focus on biology and nutrition. PepsiCo doesn't just make Pepsi-Cola beverages, they also own brands such as Frito Lay, Quaker Oaks, Gatorade and Tropicana.

For those of you who haven't heard, billionaire David Murdock and other developers are building the biotech research campus in Kannapolis North Carolina, on the site of an old textile mill complex that closed in 2001. Sixteen other businesses, eight North Carolina universities and the state's community college system have also committed to open facilities at the research campus. The research park will focus on furthering advancements in the fields of biotechnology, nutrition and health. Although The NC Research Campus is already open, there is much more development to come.
