The accolades for Raleigh just keep coming in! Hotwire.com just released its list of the Best Value Destination Cities and Raleigh placed at #8. Hotwire evaluated the 75 most visited cities and assessed them on low hotel rates and discounts, affordable entertainment and overall appeal.
Ranking higher than other cities as Chicago (#9) and Miami (#10), Raleigh is the only city in North Carolina to obtain this distinction. The report highlights Raleigh with the best score among the top 10 cities for low prices and discounts.
Hotwire featured the following three Raleigh attractions:
•Ø The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, which the Web site notes is "the only place you can see a dinosaur with a fossilized heart."
•Ø The Historic Oak View County Park near the intersection of Poole Road and the Interstate-440 Beltline in Raleigh, which Hotwire describes as "a fully restored, pre-Civil War farmstead that will give you a glimpse of what life was like 200 years ago."
•Ø The Warehouse District in Raleigh, which Hotwire calls an up-and-coming collection of "beer pubs, clubs and fantastic nightlife."
