The beauty about blogging at the end of the day.
Today was very full. I started at 6am by putting Diesel in my Silverado Gas 4x4. I had to cancel my 8:30 appointment and my 11:00 am appointment. Luckily I did not lose these buyers.
I have seen a tremendous surge this past week I am.
I am swamped and greatful for it.
I believe in taking the high road. Our business is directly related to our attitude and how we deal with the public. If we are battling with our collegues over a few dollars where does this leave our attitude and is it worth it, do you want this type of behavior around you?
I also believe in Carma.
When I started in the business in South Florida a gentleman by the name of Greezy Sleezy hired me to be a office manager/buyers agent he promised a salary of $850 week. After 3 weeks he never paid me. He know sells seafood is divorced and rents a home.
I then worked for a gentleman a real clean cut smooth talker (everybody loved him) by the name of Boozer Loser. His wife was jeolous because I out sold him 2 to 1. He asked me to leave the team with 4 transactions on the table. He agreed to pay me the original split. He did not and my Broker then did not make him either. He stole about $12,000 from me.
Now he is 2x divorced, 2x failed offices, renting an apartment with a roommate, and selling timeshares somewhere near Orlando begging for some business.
When I moved back to NC I had an encounter with another Broker In Charge with a case of Short Man Syndrome 2 months later he was asked to leave the company and now I think he delivers Pizza.
I know there are opportunities to not pay referral fee, to cut an agent out of an earned commission, to not pay your buyer's agents, to hold a contract to save a referral fee, but if you have to be sneaky to make a few dollars is it worth it in the long run. Is it really worth burning a bridge to have a few extra dollars in your pocket?
The universe rewards good behavior.
The message I am trying to parlay is even though "you can" should you?
