My visit to the North Carolina Museum of Art

There are so many wonderful things to do in the Triangle.  The weather is finally cooling off and this weekend has been absolutely beautiful.    I've been North Carolina Musuem of Artmeaning to get over to the North Carolina Museum of Art since the new opening 3/10th.  Yes, I'm slack, and since the real estate market has finally slowed down I was able to visit yesterday and I must admit I was quite impressed!  My husband and I had brunch at the Cary Cafe and within 10 minutes we were passed NCSU and walking through the grounds at the Art Museum.  The convenience of arts, sports, and activities in the Triangle is one of the big draws to the Triangle.

The new set-up in the West Wing is very sleak and modern.  It looks similar to larger city museums seen in New York, Dallas, and Chicago.   The new restaurant, called Iris, looked enticing and will be on my list for a visit soon.

The museum is divided into sections with different collections of art work.  The Permanent Collection is located in the West Building and offers different options from old Egyptian artifacts to distinctively modern and contemporary artwork.  Auguste Rodin, the sculpture artist, has a beautiful garden that was fun to browse also.   I don't want to spoil the experience for your visit although I have provided a few photos to show the slick new design.
