Tax Free Weekend is here! This year, it is August 1-4. My daughter, Jordan, will be a senior this year
and, with the exception of college, this is my last trip to the malls to go shopping for "Back-to-School" before college. This is a great weekend. I don't like to shop, and I really don't like shopping at peak times when so many others are shopping. However, I take exception to this weekend. Even though you only save 7.5%, and it's only on designated items, many retailers that offer goods not on the list match the incentive to get prospecive shoppers through the door.
Here's a List Of Items Exempt During The Sales Tax Holiday
Shop safe. Do not buy more than you can afford!! And, remember, I have a 17 year old so it's all about the clothes and not the supplies!

Hi Tracy, it's great the tax free weekend has finally rolled around. It's good for everyone on the categories of goods that are tax exempt. The computer category is good for EVERYONE.
Out the door now! We have a really long list, because the stores are running REALLY good sales! Thanks for the reminder!
It's too bad we all can't shop in New York! We often go back to Dallas but missed the trip this year w/real estate! They have tax holidays too!
My high schooler wears uniform..so it makes back to school great for shopping :)
I personally will stay from the malls this weekend. There is really nothing I want on the tax free side to be around all those people.
Tracy: Dumb dumb me bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago not even thinking about the tax free holiday! I hate crowds so I must say, I'm relieved I don't have to be out in it. Still, it's great that there is a tax free day for all those who have school age children.
Enjoy this weekend. Florida got skipped over this year with Tax Free shopping week.
Really, what a shame. I didn't know that until now. Thanks Katrina.
