Penny I think it is cool that you posed this since this morning I had a post that my son is returning from the armed forces today! My son is with the flight wing, or should I say WAS with the fight wing. Thanks for the post!
Hi Penny,
My Mom grew up in Dunn, NC and I've heard her talk about a school field trip to Fort Bragg which left quite an impression on her. Must be a great day trip for people in the general area.
Hi Penny,
Thank you very much for the history, links, and information you posted on the 82nd, and Fort Bragg. I'm embarrassed to say that having lived in NC now for over 20 years, I just learned a lot about what I should have already known.
Wow, my husband was at the Air Force Base in Goldsboro, Seymour Johnson. We watch for news on the fighter jets. We use to work on them.
Penny thanks for this post as a tribute to our fighting forces. We need to support them anyway we can.
Penny, I love going to military museums. I have never been to Ft Bragg but if I ever get out that way again I would sure visit here! Great info for those moving to the Ft Bragg area.
Nanette - I'm so glad you're going to get to see your son! I hope you're getting at least a little time off to spend time with him.
Cynthia - This is just one part of Fort Bragg. There's a lot of history there - and men and women work there that will someday be in the history books themselves.
Richard - I hope you get a chance to stop by. It's worth it!
Susan - My father-in-law spent several years repairing fighter jets. He doesn't talk about it much, but he's proud that he did his part.
Michael - Learning more about what our troops have done to protect our country can be one of the greatest tributes.
Jo - Hope you have the chance to come some day! Between the bases in North Carolina and nearby Washington, DC there's a tremendous amount of military history within 5-6 hours of Raleigh.
