The weather has been just beautiful here in Onslow County NC the last several days with highs in the mid to upper 70s. The average high temperature in Swansboro NC for the month of March is 64 and the average low is 42. We would like to think that Spring is here to stay but according to the weatherman, there is more cold weather coming this afternoon.
With that in mind, the little one and I headed to the new playground at the Town Park in Swansboro yesterday afternoon to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. The playgound is designed for children age 5-12 and is a result of Swansboro's latest effort to upgrade the Town's parks.
My little one, along with the other children playing in the park, put their stamp of approval on the new playground. Residents of Swansboro and Hubert NC, do yourself and your kids a favor -- take them to the Town Park for some fun and good, healthy exercise.

Good morning ma'am,
I am jealous that you are in the 70's, would you mind sending some of that to me.
The other day I drove by one of the playgrounds I played at as a child and noticed it was gone. So are several others in town. It's good to see a town where they are being build and not torn down.
aaahhh yes, good ole higher temperatures, no snow, not cold, I remember those days. I think the parks for children leave a lasting impression on the child as it is always a fun time in their lives. I hope to see more and more of them and hope they stay for good.
Cynthia--Lots of kids and families are going to be having fun this summer in Swansboro!
Hi Cynthia in NC,
The temps here in GA have been running in the high70's to 80 degrees. I used to love taking my daughter to the playground near the bay. Now that was a good time for all of us because we would take a break to have picnic by the water, and I would pack a complete dinner!
Looks like fun...Think I'll come down and join the youngsters on the slide.
Great Localism post. When my children were much younger, I took them to the park/playground often!
Now THAT is a playground and great for localism! I've been to doggie parks but never to playgrounds except when I was growing up!
What an adorable playground! I know there are going to be lots of very happy children!
Cynthia, 70's? We are back in the teens :( But that playground is huge and looks like so much fun (even for us "older" folks).
Cynthia, what a cool looking play ground...and the equipment looks like it would hold mom. ;-) What wonderful weather to have this time of year - sounds like our's...though we're in the 80's in a day or two...;-)
Hi Cynthia, That is some pretty sophisticated equipment compared to when we all grew up. Lets see, a tedder totter and the swings and oh, not to forget the great sliding board. They were made of metal and we could get them realy slick ( with a little help form our dad's supply of auto compound and polish.
Don,
I would send you some of our warm weather but it's gone now! Though, I'm sure we're still much warmer than you are there.
Hi Tammy,
What a shame! Children need playgounds (and so do Moms)!
Bob,
Nothing beats a warm day at the park with the kids (well, maybe the beach is better, but it's not warm enough for that yet).
Cynthia it has been nice here as well until we got that snow two weeks ago. About two months from now it will be April and it should get a little warmer. Have a great weekend. Great post.
Teri,
Yes they are and isn't that grand?
Cynthia,
Just the kind of thing for "quality family time".
Cindy,
I went down one of the slides - makes you feel like a kid again!
Russell,
I thought you were the kind of Dad who would have taken the time to do just that. :-)
