Happy 4th of July from Lake Norman NC!

My flag blowing in the wind during our 4th of July Parade!

Happy 4th of July to all from Lake Norman North Carolina!

Every year we have a truly small town Americana Independence Day Parade in Iredell County. I took the picture above and those below while riding on the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Club's float. What an amazing 3-mile ride:

US Vietnam Veterans

At the front of the parade are the floats carrying our veterans from all of wars. This parade is truly all about them!

Parade Route Through Troutman

The three-mile route is lined with folks, no matter how hot it is!

Locals Enjoying the parade!

These folks were selling watermelon and have a hand-written sign that reads: "We are proud of you!"

Families enjoying the shade during the parage

Those lucky enough to live along the parade route shared their shade with all who wanted to join them!

Proud of our Veterans

We all shared the same thing, we are proud of our military and veterans and wanted them all to know it!

Hi Diane!  What a fun time you're going to have today--and we've got the perfect weather to go along with it!  Have a safe & wonderful Independence Day...

Debe in Charlotte

It is fun to be part of a parade and enjoy or family time. Enjoy the 4th but remember why we enjoy all our freedoms.

Hi Diane, What wonderful pictures to share!  It looks like a beautiful day and a lot of fun :)

Hi Diane,
There's nothing like the small town 4th of July parades!  Great photos.  Happy 4th!

Great photos Diane.  Thank you for sharing.  I bet those watermelons were locally grown.  Yum!  :)
