ActiveRain Meetup in Wilminton, NC ~ So Special for Me ....
Our first ever ActiveRain Meetup Frank and I were able to attend was a very special one thanks to so many people who made it happen and were able to attend...
It was held in a very flexible restaurant by the name of
Kornerstone Bistro that was so very accommodating for us!! Thanks to Cinnamon Wright for setting up the arrangements for our AR meetup, the restaurant opened early for us on this special Saturday, December 10th, 2011.
This AR meetup was special for me because I was really wishing and hoping a certain someone would show up.
Amy brought Roger and Tanner, Cinnamon brought Zoe, but I still wasn't sure about Craig.....
Running late because family and friends were calling to wish me a Happy Birthday, we were driving on I - 140 and suddenly my cell phone rang with an unfamiliar phone number showing for the Raleigh area..... Hello, This is Karen ...
I, Karen, this is Craig .... Hi Craig!!! Are you on your way?? Yes, I am, I'll be there soon... Excitement, Glee, Happiness ...... Craig said to me...Red or White? Hmmm, Red, I replied...Thanks and he hung up....
Now that was a bit strange...Red or White what, I wondered...
We arrived at the Kornerstone Bistro and said hello to everyone who was sitting around the table. Wow, Tish, Cinnamon, Zoe, Dick & Sandy Beals, Melissa, Amy, Roger and Tanner... Hugs and more hugs and kisses to all..
It was so nice to meet and see people in person. We donated in the BIG BOX for the less fortunate, thanks to Tish and Cinnamon for arranding this!! Amy was on the phone, checking in with someone, I suppose it was Craig, who was on his way, little did I know, moments later ... he arrived with a special quest he picked up from Raleigh Airport, who had taken four planes to get here from Wisconsin .... LAURA BAKER ....
Seriously, as Zoe's shirt said .... Seriously, who takes four planes to attend an ActiveRain Meetup??
Is it about the points? Is it for the meetup with the AR peeps? Was it for my birthday?? Who knows? Does it really matter? Roger Mucci called to say Hello .... Michael Thornton called to say Hello .. Maybe others called and I missed the calls ... All I know is I sat next to Laura Baker and had a blast!! Frank and Craig bonded like they had known each other for years ....
No one wanted to say goodbye or leave ... time went so quickly ... Memories to last forever ...
Thanks to all who attended ... Thanks to those who setup the meetup .... Thanks for the memories, the Birthday presents, The "Red" from Craig's question, was Red wine (how in the world did he know I was a googy twosome middle sister)...the Birthday cake, the LOL plaque to always remind me of the laughter in my life from Amy, the awesome Picture Frame made by Mimi (Tish) designed with love and care, sparkles, glitter, bows and reindeer for me for the holiday season and an amazing AR Meetup that I personally will never forget .....
