FREE Radon test kits for your home - NC Residents

The EPA has designated January as National Radon Action Month. The aim of National Radon Action Month is to increase the public's awareness of radon, promote radon testing and mitigation, and advance the use of radon-resistant new construction practices.

In honor of National Radon Action Month the North Carolina Radon Program is giving away free radon test kits (limited to one radon test kit per home and while supplies last).

Get A Free Radon Test Kit for Your Home - short term and long test kits are available.

According to the EPA, here are three things you can do during National Radon Action Month:

  1. Test your home - EPA and the U.S. Surgeon General recommend that all homes in the U.S. be tested for radon.

  2. Spread the word - Tell your family and friends about the health risks of radon. Encourage them to test their homes.

  3. Buy a radon-resistant home - If you are considering buying a new home, look for builders who use radon-resistant new construction.
