My 400th Post Ought To Be About Schoolin' Shouldn't It?

I've been know to talk quite a bit for a guy but even I did not think I had 400 posts in me. And to think the bulk of them have been made just sense last Fall.

If you are moving to Minot ND and you want to know the School Districts then here is a map for you. Wich District is the BEST? Well if you ask anyone with kids in the Minot School System the obvious and unanimous answer is the one you live in! I'm not trying to be funny, it's the truth, every district in Minot is full of top notch teachers and administrators.

When we were moving to Minot I was determined that my kids would be going to Christian school because I did not want them to be taught the crap you hear about around the country that is so contrary to Christian beliefs. Then we found out that our son has high-functioning autism. The Private schools were not equipped to give him the special attention he needed. Much to our delight we found that nearly every teacher and administrator we meet held the same values as we do.

Three years later we see our son has made unbelievable progress, I'd even call it a miracle. Timmothy is in the grade he should be for his age and is a straight A student. We give the credit where it is due, to the excellent staff at his school, Sunnyside Elementary.

One note I want to throw in here. See the red circle above that says South Prairie? South Prairie is a School District that includes a huge rural area of Minot. The School is 11 miles South of Minot in the middle of nowhere. The circle is where Minot's newest ritzy development is. At this time about 1/3 of the area is in the Washington School District and 2/3 is in South Prairie. The negative of this is obvious. Your kid may be on a bus headed 11 miles out of town for school why his/her best friend from across the street heads to the school 1/2 mile away. The positive aspect is that South Prairie has a bus system, Minot Schools do not. You may want to ask yourself: Do I want to take the kids to school every morning or do I want to let the bus come and get them and bring them back every day?
