Are you buying a home and asking the seller to make repairs?

Many buyers when purchasing a home ask the sellers to make repairs before closing. It is NOT enough to simply ask for the repairs to be done, you want the repairs done for safety and to avoid making the issue worse by not having the repair done professionally.

Here are a few tips when asking the seller to make repairs to the home before closing. Actually, you want the repairs completed before the 48 hour walk-through.

Tips:

1) Make sure you ask in writing for repairs to be done by a licensed or qualified professional.

2) Make sure you ask in writing for the PAID receipts of the repairs and that these receipts are available upon the 48 hour walk-through before closing.

3) If you are a buyer, it may be a good idea to have an inspector/professional accompany you on your walk-through to ensure the repairs were done correctly.
