Amazing 3D 4D ultrasounds are now available to expectant moms in New Hampshire. Ultrasounds during pregnancy are nothing new, I had them back in the eighties.
Ultrasounds are not what they used to be, though! Most of us are familiar with yesterday's ultrasound photo...if you were lucky, you could make out the outline of the baby's body. They were more like an ink blot test than a photo.
Well, welcome to the future! Today's 3D/4D ultrasound is a very detailed first look at your baby...it's like the blinds have been opened and you're actually seeing inside the womb.
Baby Belly Boutique in Dover, New Hampshire is a very unique pregnancy imaging spa for both the expectant parents and any of their family or friends that they want to include in the experience.
The facility was created to be as inviting and relaxing as possible by designing it to be more like a spa and less like a medical facility. After your session is complete, you receive the original digital pictures and video clips that were created.
Baby Belly Boutique is owned and operated by Jessica Borden-Elfner, a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
She has over fifteen years of experience, having worked in Boston hospitals and local OB-GYN practices.
Jessica has a compassion for her patients and their comfort is very important to her.
She offers a great amount of flexibility for appointments, including weekends and evenings.
A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to attend my daughter-in-law's 4D ultrasound, and it was nothing less than amazing.
My parents were also invited to be there, and they were very grateful to be included in what was an opportunity of a lifetime.
I can't put into words the feeling in the room as we all saw our little Jack appear on the screen for the first time.
Jessica is friendly, caring, and very professional. She made us all feel welcome, with no feeling of time restraint.
At one point, Jessica pointed out a spot she noticed on Jack's ear. She told us it could be just a shadow, but it might be a small growth. Ironically, I had a growth on my ear when I was born. I was curious to see if my grandson would have something similar.
When Jack was born, there it was...a small piece of skin on his ear.
Because we had seen it in the ultrasound and were expecting the possibility, it wasn't a surprise. He will have it removed in a couple of months, but when I see it, it makes me smile. It's like I have a connection with him that no one else has.
