Sarah Care in Hampstead, NH

I had the privilege to visit a wonderful place today. It is a day care facility for people living with Alzheimer's disease. Sarah Care offers a safe place where patients with Alzheimer's can go for a few hours or all day so their custodial family can "get a break" from the 24-7 care necessary to keep these people safe.Hampstead Commons c j tuscano

Sarah Care is set in a strip mall called Hampstead Commons located on Route 111 in Hampstead just east of the Stage Road intersection. The environment is welcoming and friendly like a huge living room with kitchen & dining facilities and full medical staff on site.

I was there today with a group of my friends; we call ourselves, Vox Jubilante.

We sing inspirational music of all kinds - we choose the songs because of the message they impart. Hopefully we put a smile on some faces and planted some hope in a heart or two.

Hampstead Commons has some other convenient shops including; a bakery, a bank, a butcher shop, a wine shop and a coffee shop called Bean Towne.

If you are looking for help with a friend or family member living with Alzheimer's, check out this facility. Sarah Care could be just the place you need to help you continue to keep your loved one home.

Judy, What a wonderful facility!!  This sounds like it was a win/win for you and them.

Judy..I am so glad you went and I bet you brought much joy to the folks at Sarah's care. Beane Town is where we were supposed to have coffee together and never did.

Marchel - thanks it was a great time for all. The facility is a wondereful alternative to full time nursing home care.

Judy - looks like a great facility. Scottsdale is building their first dementia care facility now. maybe we can Vox Jubilante to put on a live )or taped performance. Looks like you are having fun.

What a great idea for a facility. I think the first few years of my grandparents Alzheimer's, this would have been great for us.

Moni - just give me a call and we can meet for coffee. The people at Sarah Care have already asked us to come back and sing again.

James - We would love to come to AZ so you get us a booking and a flight and we'll be there. lol

Todd - Alzheimer's hit close to us also - my mother in law was a victim - I only wish we had a place like this for her so she could have stayed at home longer. When we sing at nursing facilities I see her in the faces of some of the patients and I remember her love of music.

What a great resource to have both for those suffering from the disease and those who need some time out! I had no idea this was available. You are so nice to make the lives of these folks more enjoyable.

Joan- Sarah Care was started by a family who's parents were sick at the same time - the Mom had alzheimers and the Dad cancer. They were disappointed with the care available to help them so after the parents died they decided to start "Sarah Care" named for their mother. A wonderful family style enviornment where the patients are made to feel right at home.
