I was pretty unhappy when I found out that The Pond View restaurant in Kingston New Hampshire had closed. I used to like going there, not so much for the food but for the ambiance.
The table settings, where everything was different and unmatched yet somehow all belonged together was a treat to see. The Gazebo overlooking the pond and the lounge that was like taking a trip through Movie land.
I was sad to see the place change and eventually go out of business, not to mention that last Christmas someone there sold my son a gift certificate.
One that he gave to Jay and me for our Christmas gift…only to end up being no good. I figured they must have needed the money as they surely had to know they would be closing soon. My fault…we probably should have used it right a way. Oh well!
The good news is that the Pond View was bought by another local restaurant owner, Rick Korn who along with his wife, own and operate Rick’s Cafe and Grill on Main Street. They plan to re-open as Rick’s Pond View and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with it.
Rick’s Cafe is known to have good food so I bet it will be a good mix for the lovely historic building on Rt 125 in Kingston.

An unused Gift Certificate...let's see I have a $3.00 Commission check...maybe we should frame these things as that is all they are good for LOL :) Anyway, time will tell on the restaurant :)
Out with the old, in with the new. It will be a new adventure. What could be better?
I'll let you know once it opens and we check it out. Thanks so much Kathy and Lenn for stopping by.
I guess your 'not so much for the food' comment might be key here! The restaurant business is so hard. Can't wait to hear about what takes it's place!
Linda...I wish I had used it right away. It was worth $50.00 the day he bought it anyway.
Carole...I shall write a review once we go! LOL...I'll be a restaurant reviewer now.
Linda,
The poor kid doesn't know. I really didn't have the heart to tell him.
Monika, who knows maybe the new ownership will honor the gift certificates of the past owners. It would great a lot of goodwill and you can not beat the publicity that you get from happy customers.
