In studies of per capita income by counties it was discovered that places like: Wyoming, Florida, Colorado and Nevada were ranked higher than the traditional business income hot spots like New York, Washington and San Francisco when it came to per capita income.

How can that be you may ask? In these places where wealthy visitors may have purchased a second home in the past, these locations have become their full time residents. One software company executive put it this way: if your clients are all over the country and you have to fly to them why not live in paradise. This theory is shared by many high income earners who believe it has become increasingly easier to do the kind of work you want in the place you want to live. With wireless technologies and commercial airport close by you can get to where ever you wish to go. Just as important your clients can come and experience your life style and recreational choices when they come to you.

The proof is in this Statistic Teton County near the Jackson Hole Ski Resort has held the highest per capita income for three years running (at $133,000) and the county’s work force has grown by 75% in the last ten years. How am I trying to tie this into my Resort area in the White Mountains of New Hampshire? We are extremely lucky to be only two hours from Boston and an hour from the Manchester NH regional airports. Our recreational lifestyle- location is a short drive from cultural events, top notch medical facilities and a one stop flight to all the major east coast business centers.

Many of our true New Hampshire advantages remain to be discovered by our visitors. Here is the short list: The lowest crime rate in the country, no state income or broad based sales tax (the lowest over-all taxes in the country), one of the highest incomes per capita as a state compared to the rest of the country, low unemployment, high S.A.T scores, one of the highest percentage of health insured citizen in the country, beautiful lakes and over 600,000 acres of protected White Mountain National Forest.

What’s the down side of living in the Mountains of New Hampshire?....Watch out for Moose when you're driving and if you leave your bird feeder out this time of year the bears are going to empty it while you're sleeping.
