Skybus, a newly launched airline, has added Portsmouth NH to its destination schedule. Skybus began its twice daily flights in and out of Pease International Tradeport on May 12th, and will be adding more flights down the road. They are here 'for the long haul'.
If you've ever flown into or out of Boston/Logan, or even our own Manchester Airport, you know it can be just a tad bit troublesome at times. Flying into and/or out of Pease is a total breeze! And the airfares being offered are amazing!!
On every single flight, Skybus guarantees at least 10 seats will cost ONLY $10.00 each way....TEN DOLLARS!! You do have to pay fees and taxes, but you pay that everywhere anyway. Right now, you can fly non-stop to Columbus Ohio, Los Angeles, Seattle/Vancouver, Fort Lauderdale, Richmond Virginia, Kansas City, and Greensboro/Winston-Salem NC areas. And within a short period of time, you can also fly to and from San Francisco/Oakland CA.
Talk about making air travel affordable! Skybus is doing it! Everything possible is automated - you book online and check in through a kiosk. They fly in and out of airports on the outskirts of major metropolitan areas, and you pay only for what you want - food on the plane, extra baggage, getting on the plane early.
With rates as affordable as these, this is going to make travel in and out of Portsmouth New Hampshire such a snap! I can't wait to try them out!

Hey Anne - I just heard about this last week - but when I go to the website, when I put in Portsmouth, the only allowable connection is to Columbus Ohio. I guess we then get a connection to one of the other cities? I wish I had realized this the other day - I literally just booked tickets to DC for the end of July. Got a good deal, but not as good as $20 (from Portsmouth to Columbus to Richmond) But still - great to know for future reference. Liz

Thanks for the information. My brother in law lives in Portsmouth and we just returned from there about 3 weeks ago! I will have to remember this the next time we go out there and vistit! It is such a wonderful place!

Sharon - I fly Southwest directly to Orlando every time I fly down there. If Skybus would add flights to Orlando or Sanford, I'd be thrilled to take those flights for $10.00 - I might even fly down more often than I do!
Liz - I had played around on their site, and I was able to choose from a variety of flights. Not sure what happened when you tried it. All of their flights that they have are supposed to be direct flights to their destination locations. Check their site again, and see what you get. I checked it again while writing this, and I see several different locations to choose from.

Monika - I hope so, too! How great to fly out of Pease! I flew to Orlando on Pan Am several times when they flew out of here, and it was SO NICE to be able to pull right up to the terminal, park right there, and only need to be there 15 minutes or so ahead of the flight time. Manchester's not bad at all, but Pease has that beat all day long!
Their locations include some of the convention cities - wouldn't that be great to fly to those places for just $10.00 each way??

Joan - the $10.00 seats on each flight are just first come first served. When I was checking their site out for flights, I saw a number of $10.00 seats available. Some flights just had a couple left, and some still showed all 10 still available. The key will be booking early to get one of those $10.00 fares.

Ines - yep, that $10.00 is amazing!! And I hope to take advantage of those cheap fares - cheaper than taxis and cheaper than even a half tank of gas, maybe even cheaper than a 1/4 tank!!

Danny - those $10.00 fares are done on a first-come first-serve basis. Book early, that's the key for those, I'm sure.

Wow, I'm lovin SkyBus! (and I like their logo too) The prices are awesome. Waaay easier than flying out of Boston Int'l.
