Spring is approaching and many homeowners are considering whether to refinish hardwood floors before they put their home on the market. As the owner of My Handyman, I've learned that you really want to call in the professionals for this job. I learned my lesson the hard way by trying 2 jobs myself, with rental equipment. Unfortunately noone using this equipment cares about it, and combined with unfamiliarity (remember every car reacts a little different), the jobs didn't go well ... and I paid for another company to redo our work.
Now I partner with flooring companies to deliver this service for my best customers (we handle moving the furniture, removing carpeting on the stairs, etc.). When one of my clients asked that I check in at the house each day to monitor the work ... I decided to take photos each day, and tell the story.

Refinishing Hardwood Floors, A Photo Story (days 1 & 2 online now, and continuing through early next week), is a great resource to help sellers decide if they want to include this project in preparing their home for sale. It takes a full week and by the end of my photo story, you'll see that it is worth it.
