This thought came to my mind yesterday as I drove down the road. Why should I hire a professional when I can do it myself? A question many people ponder in various situations. For me this day, the question came to me when driving past my travel agents office.

I found myself confused and often annoyed when trying to "do it myself." So, I did what and smart consumer should do.

Professional services are infrequent, technical, or unique functions performed by independent contractors or consultants whose occupation is the rendering of such services. The selection of an independent contractor or consultant providing professional services is usually based on skill, knowledge, reputation, ethics, and creativity.

For me, the concept was simple. I needed to hire a professional service provider for a job I needed accomplished. It amazes me that with my profession, and the knowledge that I posses; that I still find people out there everyday trying to do it themselves. Trying to buy a home without a buyers agent, or selling a home on their own; FSBO. To me, it seems the liability is too high to risk. Why put yourself in a situation that is often complex or complicated.
