Somersworth NH boy scouts to serve as color guard for a Bruins Game

welcome to New Hampshire sign

The more and more I write my blogs, luckily for me, the more and more I have been noticed. As most of you may know by now, I am very involved in youth sports, in particular, youth hockey. My son Micheal is a member of the Somersworth Berwick Black Bears youth hockey team at the Mites level. For any of you that know about youth hockey, you will know what a Mite is, between the ages of 5 and 8. I am also the head coach for the Mites team, and am a member of the Board of Directors for (SBYHA) Somersworth Berwick Youth Hockey.

I often write about my community involvement, my plans with the team, and our fund-raising efforts. It seems that residents of Somersworth New Hampshire are now reading my blogs! (YEAH ME!) I was contacted last week by the supervisor of the recreation department for the city of Somersworth asking for a little bit of help. You see, not only do I blog, and am heavily involved with SBYH, but I am the webmaster for the hockey programs website! www.leaguelineup.com/somersworthberwick The supervisor Darryl asked if I could announce the fact that the Somersworth New Hampshire cub scouts and boy scouts will be serving as color guard for the Boston Bruins final, regular season, home game. The recreation department is offering transportation to the game, and a ticket for entry, all for only $50! I told Darryl that I would be honored to do so and that I would do whatever he needed to help him out.

Boston Bruins

....Come watch the Bruins take on division rival Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, April 5th for an evening face-off at 7:00 p.m. Members of the Somersworth Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts will serve as color guard during the playing of the National Anthem prior to the game. This is the Bruins final game of the regular season and will serve as "Fan Appreciation Day". Bus leaves at 4:00 p.m. from the Flanagan Center. $50 per person includes ticket and transportation. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets can be purchased at the Somersworth Recreation Department in City Hall. For more information, call 692-9508.

So, there you go Darryl, I hope this was a good enough plug for you!
