Today is EARTH DAY! And, the Student Council of the Galloway Township Middle School will be creating a wildflower garden in a courtyard on the school grounds. My daughter, Tina, who is the President of the Student Council asked me to go shopping for wildflower seeds. Of course I had all day to take care of this, but I had a busy day at work as a RE/MAX agent. Tina reminded me at 6:30 that I needed to pick up the seeds. After an hour and a half of searching and shopping, I tracked down the perfect wild flower seeds at my local Shoprite! Of course, I started out at the local garden center, who was totally out, but I did pick up patch seed for my lawn. Then I tried the hardware store. Everyone knows that you can always find a display of seeds at your local hardware store. Nope! Just the little packets of marigolds, morning glories, etc.
Okay, let's try Plan C: Let's check out the supermarket...never know! I drove across the street to the Shop Rite before I drive down to The Home Depot, who I called so that I would save a trip if I can find out on the phone whether they had any wildflower seeds in stock before driving there. I asked for the Garden Center and was put on hold. Well...I think they forgot me because I was on hold for at least 1/2 an hour ON MY CELL PHONE...hello! minutes ticking!! In the meantime, with help from an employee and friend, Diane, we found the perfect selection.
Thanks to the Student Council there will be beautiful flowers to admire.
