A proposed development at Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 in Lacey Twp will no longer be an age-restricted community.
In 2005, the project was proposed as an age-restricted development. But the project remained stalled for years, until earlier this year developers approached the Lacey Twp Planning Board with a revised plan for a non-age restricted development.
The developer will be allowed to build 84 units, with 67 at market value and 17 as moderate to low cost units.
The board had several concerns about the project, including lack of parking for a 1,503-square-foot community center that would have a capacity of 139 people. They requested modifications be made. The center was replaced with a playground facility and 81 parking spaces were added.
The agreement calls for the units to decrease in size from about 2,200 and 2,400 square feet to 1,500- and 1,600-square-foot units. Lacey Township Building Associates plans to purchase three parcels of township property needed to extend a road to create a second entrance to the development.
