Here at the Jersey Shore we're ready for summer! If your summer plans include boating (any motorized boat or jet ski), beginning June 1, 2009, you're required to have a New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate.
You can take the course online, and also download the information you'll need to complete the New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate course. After completion, an in person exam is required.
In addition to the education requirement that takes effect on June 1, 2009, operators must meet age requirements in order to operate a motorized vessel.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary has launched About Boating Safety, designed as an introductory course to meet the new education needs of New Jersey's recreational boaters. USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 7 is offering these courses at various locations for Jersey Shore boaters.
Another great service of the Coast Guard is its FREE Vehicle Safety Check (VOC). The inspection doesn't take long. It will point out any deficiencies and the Auxiliary will give you the most up to date state and federal boating laws and regulations.ActiveRain Corp. is not responsible for the accuracy of the site's content (which is written by members of the ActiveRain Real Estate Network) and does not endorse the views of the real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and others listed here.
