Yesterday our office hosted a seminar at The Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark, NJ for The Homes at City Landing. The city of Newark along with public & private developers is bringing homeownership closer to buyers at very affordable rates. The brand new homes start at $225,000. There are certain qualifications that buyers must meet such as:

Annual income at or under $96,370*

Annual household income between approximately $61,500 and no more than &96,370*

You can't currently own or have owned a house within the past 18 months*

You must be willing to be an owner occupant and make this new home your principal residence*

You must be willing to accept some resale restrictions on the purchase of your new home*

I felt good greeting folks at the door as they entered the hotel with expressions of hope & optimism of possibly owning their own home. It further confirmed for me that the market is still alive & well. Buyers are out there looking for their piece of the "American dreams." It's time to make those dreams a reality, regardless of what the media says.
