Network Connections for Pets in Search of People!

Facebook connections have created all kinds of networking opportunities...for pets too! While we keep hearing about what a great business tool facebook is, I've also been lucky enough to find many old high school friends on that site.

In getting reacquainted with one of those HS buddies, I'm presented with an opportunity to help our furry friends, transported from high kill shelters in North Carolina to shelters in Atlantic County, and other areas of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

My friend, Catherine Harold (we called her Harri in high school) now lives in Virgina, and regularly drives a leg of this rescue caravan. Here's an email I received from her yesterday...

"Laura - I had the sweetest dog riding shot gun with me this morning – she layed her head in my lap the whole time she rode with me. She’s going to the Atlantic County Humane Society today. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NJ47.html Vanna is about 1 yr old, solid white Sheppard mix (probably 30-35 lbs), and is extremely sweet – fwd this email on to others you know who might be interested in fostering her or adopting. She was saved this morning from being put down at the Lenoir NC pound with 24 other puppies/dogs. Several others are going to the Atlantic County Humane and to Miki’s Day Dream Rescue (Furry Angles in Elwood, NJ), the schnauzer mix was adorable and very little. Here’s a picture of sweet Vanna (she’s wearing a cooling collar b/c it’s so hot, and her ears normally stand up straight)."
