Discussion amoung peers is valuable. Discussion among professionals at the top of their game even more so. I've recently found that discussion with those you have worked with for many years can bring about wonderful gems of wisdom as well.
On a recent post I wrote about Pre-approvals, there were so many incredible insights from AR members that I plan to compile a list of all of them. (Including yours Mr. Belonger). After all that was the initial intent; to create a great learning event for everyone.
But there is one person I never thought I would learn from in this case; and that is someone that I have worked with for 5+ years. Someone that I see everyday. My wife. She started explaining to me what her thoughts were about the post, so finally I told her to log in and type it in the blog. But certainly this post is not about her. It is about the power ActiveRain can play in creating deeper, more beneficial relationships with those you already work with.
Sitting at a round table is great. But I think the round table that a blog creates can be even more beneficial. It creates patient, diliberate thought that goes beyond a quick one hour event, and spreads it out to the thoughts that someone has as they are going to bed, as they are driving, or as they are brushing their teeth. Not only do you get these hidden gems that come to people throughout the day, but you get them written down for you.
So then - can you see the benefit of having your own staff on ActiveRain as a means of office presentations/office meetings? See we could jump on to "GoToMeeting" or another live online set-up, but we risk losing precious gems of wisdom that don't come within that hour-long timeframe, or that people don't pipe up and share because they are intimidated or nervous. I would be that way myself, so I am sure others would too.
Are office meetings a thing of the past?
Can you be the hero bringing this idea up to your broker?
If you want to keep it private, you can create a members-only group. Or if you want to learn from everyone, keep it public. I would think as a manager or broker, requiring agents to participate on something like this, versus pulling-teeth to get them to drive to the office, could be hugely successful. Not to mention getting them on AR and the many other wonderful benefits that come from this awesome community.
