Hurricane Irene in Salem County, NJ
It's a quiet Sunday night. The day after hurricane Irene passed through Salem County, NJ. It sure was stressful waiting, listening and watching for her to show up.
On Friday, I drove around -- removed all of the yard signs on my listings -- and walked around the exteriors of the properties just to inspect for anything 'loose' that could possibly cause a problem in high winds. My sellers and I wished each other luck in riding out the storm. We promised to speak after-wards.
Tomorrow, I'll retrace my steps -- reinstall the signs and take that walk around my listings one more time. I am hoping and praying that everything is fine. Perhaps wetter, but fine. I sincerely hope that I don't have to deliver any bad news to my clients.
I feel a bit nervous since Irene was not kind to our area, at all. There was one fatality a couple of towns over from mine. Apparently, there is extensive damage from the flash floods and storm surge, too.
Anyone who thinks that the weathermen made too big a fuss about Irene is grossly mistaken.
