I spend my life as a Realtor trying my very best to help the buyers and sellers I work with. We all know that as fellow Realtors we work countlless hours giving of ourselves to help our clients achieve their dreams. We also know the happiness we experience when we have found that perfect house for our buyers, or when our Sellers are delighted that their home is sold and they can move on with their lives, because of our diligent work. Part of the joy of our profession is the satisfaction we find when we have accomplished our clients' goals and dreams.

Today I was on the opposite side of the equation. I was at a Doctor's office with a close relative, and experienced an amazing outpouring of concern and expert advice, given with empathy and kindness. This was truly a humbling experience. No matter what the profession, the true level of success is the ability to help others.

We as Realtors are fortunate to be in a position to help our clients on many levels. We can provide emotional support during the buying/selling process, we can provide excellent information with which our clients can make astute decisions, we can let our clients know that we do indeed care about them and their concerns, and we can help by being the consumate professional always available for consultation and advice.

The adage, "it is better to give than receive" is true, but being on the receiving end is a sweet reminder of the positive impact we can have on each other's lives!
