This morning we awoke to the effects of a Noreaster that took it's best shot during the night. It was the middle of the night when we noticed the electricity had gone out. "Oh no" I thought to myself. But fell back to sleep since there was clearly nothing I could do about it. Upon getting out of bed, I slowly became aware of all of the simple things we take for granted in our day to day life. • Keep cellphones charged at all times in the event of such emergencies
• Candles should be kept on hand
• Dried foods that can be consumed so that you don't have to keep opening the refrigerator
