River Vale | New Jersey | The American Dream

The community of River Vale, New Jersey in the Pascack Valley section of Bergen County consists of a small unassuming town known for it's Golf Courses and it's plentiful manicured green lawns. It's not uncommon to get a close up view of the beautiful wildlife as seen here on Piermont Road in front of the Edgewood Country Club.

Established in the early 1900's, the Township of River Vale is rich in History and has remained one of the most tranquil towns in the Pascack Valley region. It's quiet yet upscale personality boasts three Golf Courses as well as the town center known as "The Four Corners" where River Vale Road and Westwood Avenue intersect to provide the town with shops, banks and local food stops.

This is the place that I (Lisa) remember growing up. Walking to the town center known as the Four Corners with my best friend, it was a simpler time when walking to grammar school was a hop, skip & a jump.

Having grown up on the South side of River Vale, walking to Roberge School (which covers grades K-5) was a few short blocks. Children on the North end of town attend Woodside. All children meet at the middle school - Holdrum School - for grades 6-8 and then move up to Pascack Valley High School on Piermont Road to join the children from the town of Hillsdale. Of course this was where I (Lisa) first met my husband Bob!

This beautiful town of River Vale has undergone some changes in the form of updates to the town center and the River Vale Public Library. The town celebrated it's 100 year River Vale Centennial in a year long 2006' celebration. In 2007', it's no wonder the Small Town of River Vale was ranked #29 in Money Magazine's Top 100 Best Places To Live in America.
